The writer behind your success
It used to be that only celebrities and politicans used ghostwriters and hid them carefully, pretending they wrote their own books. Today, we take it for granted that many people need a wordsmith to translate their thoughts into readable books.
A ghostwriter is your scribe, taking your best wisdom, stories, and information and recording it for you in book format. For busy professionals, it is one of the wisest forms of outsourcing. You are too busy DOING business to invest hundreds or even thousands of hours in writing your book.
I've ghosted more than 30 projects over the last 10 years, writing for doctors, therapists, coaches, consultants, professional speakers, sales trainers, internet marketers, real estate developers, healers, religious leaders, and even a psychic.
The majority of my ghosting projects are non-fiction books, but I also have deep expertise in ghosting workbooks and training manuals for personal use or corporate settings.
When we work together in a ghostwriting project, you and I spend lots of time on the phone, talking about your ideas, your target readers, and the business outcomes of your book. Based on that information, I craft a manuscript that highlights your best ideas in a way that will inspire readers to take action, solve problems, and respond to your offers.
Depending on your target readers, I will also search for primary sources that can support your ideas, such as research studies, quotations, and information from other authors, to give your book rigour and respectibility.
The ghosting process requires time; just like fine wine, your ideas need to ferment a bit. Most projects demand between 6-9 months of writing time. You maintain complete creative control of all aspects of your project throughout our engagment. I guarantee your complete satisfaction with your finished manuscript. The project is not finished until you LOVE your book.
When the project is completed, you'll have a professionally edited manuscript ready for publishing. Most of my clients publish with my team, making the process easy and seamless. A few wish to set up their own publishing house, so I walk them through that process and manage it for them.
Because every project is unique, timelines and investments vary. Pricing for an average business book can range between $25,000 and $40,000, industry standard for professional business ghostwriting. Payment plans are available and recommended.
These kinds of books are springboards to your future goals, whether you are seeking paid key-note speaking opportunities, a shift to private consulting, additional clients, or expert status. We'll work together to determine the results that would best build your business, and create the book in a way that will support the achievement of those goals. Industry leaders need a book with their name on it to be taken seriously so it only makes sense to craft a book that brings you the ROI that best supports your aims and objectives.
The Ethics of a Professional Ghostwriter
Ghostwriting requires a high degree of professional and personal ethics. You are trusting me with your confidential information, business practices, and personal stories. I take that trust seriously. All projects begin with a written letter of agreement, including a strong confidentiality clause so that you can be sure I'll keep your information private. I never reveal which books I've ghosted, nor does my name appear anywhere in your book. To ensure there is no bleed-through between projects, I only take on one project each year per industry.
There are vendors online who offer fast ghosting at ridiculusly low prices. Beware. I've been called in to fix some of those manuscripts and they were trash. You would not trust your tax preparation or health care to a discount provider. Your book is you, preseved on paper, and requires the same amount of expertise and professionalism.
